Principal's Message

On behalf of the Holy Guardian Angels Regional School community, I welcome you!

HGA School has a rich history of faith, dedication, and academic excellence. Teaching began in 1931 at 3100 Kutztown Rd. Using four classrooms on the second floor in a building serving as a church, parish hall, and rectory, the Missionary Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus gave the children of the parish weekly catechetical instruction.

In 1933, with 70 students in grades1-5 and three sisters from St. Michael’s Convent, Holy Guardian Angels School officially opened its doors. A new grade level was added each year, and in 1936 the school proudly graduated its first class of ten students. The construction of the new church in 1963 allowed room for additional classes and offices. By 1964, the school had reached its peak enrollment of 437 students in grade 1-8.  Kindergarten classes started in 1981 in conjunction with St. Margaret’s School, and in 1983, HGA’s own kindergarten was established.  An addition to the original church building occured in 1986 providing a kindergarten classroom, a preschool classroom, library, and administrative offices.

Groundbreaking for our current education center was held in 2000 and the building was completed in 2001. This new facility was named Holy Guardian Regional School — a new entity that successfully merged the communities of St. Joseph School and Holy Guardian Angels School. The new building consists of administrative offices, a state of the art gymnasium, social hall with stage, library, and 22 classrooms along with several smaller rooms.

As you look through our website and enjoy highlights from our school, we hope that you get a sense of who we are as a community.

For close to 90 years, the faculty and staff of HGA School have dedicated themselves to developing Christian students who are focused on loving, respecting, and serving God, self, and others.
